An introduction. Something so simple, a quick snippet of information to convey an essence of who you are. I’ve never been very good at introducing myself, even though I would say that meeting new people is one of my favourite things to do. I think I have a tendency to skip over this first step somehow – maybe I’m more interested in hearing the stories a person might tell than their job title. I don’t know. But this new blog of mine needs a first post; an introduction of myself and what I hope to share with this blog.
So here it is.
Hello, my name is Alison and I have lived in one city for longer than this nomadic soul of mine would have expected. Thankfully, an incredible opportunity has landed in my lap at the right time, and so I’m going to take a 5 month break from my regular life exactly the way I’ve titled this post: Aimlessly and Anywhere. I find so much freedom in being able to explore the world in this fashion. This blog may end up similarly unstructured with parts travel journal, therapeutic diary, photo album, and a collection of what’s inspired me.
A week from now I get to start a leave of absence from a job that I’ve loved – and I couldn’t be happier. I still don’t know where I’ll go first but honestly that’s part of the fun for me at the moment. I’m sure some of my friends have already gotten tired of hearing me chatter about where I might fly to first and changing my mind mid-sentence!
